After the success of our last developer week, we’re hosting another one this year from June 12th to June 16th. This will be a week of online only conversations, build parties, AMAs, blog posts, and other content.

There will be watch parties for all streams in the Hacker House on gather.town. Instructions for joining can be found in the Urbit Foundation group.

Kicking Off Developer Week

Time: Monday June 12th – 9am Pacifc | 6pm CEST

We will kick off Urbit developer week with an introduction by ~wolref-podlex, ~lagrev-nocfep & ~dalweb-donfun. They will give you a sneak peek into what's awaiting you at Assembly this year, give you an update about the Foundation and tell you all about how to get involved with Urbit right now. Some very exciting announcements are waiting for you here.

%Lick by ~mopfel-winrux

Time: Monday June 12th – noon Pacifc | 9pm CEST

~mopfel-winrux, lead developer at Native Planet, has taken it upon himself to build a hardware vane that lets your Urbit directly communicate with the machine it's running on. This opens up an array of new possibilities. In this talk ~lagrev-nocfep will interview ~mopfel-winrux about his progress, and we might even see a demo.

Core Roadmap

Time: Tuesday June 13th – 9am Pacifc | 6pm CEST

In this talk our CTO ~rovnys-ricfer, together with ~master-morzod & ~wolref-podlex, will give an update on the Roadmap and talk about other news concerning Urbit’s core development. There are some exciting announcements coming up.

Time: Tuesday June 13th – 10am Pacifc | 7pm CEST

Portal

Time: Tuesday June 13th – noon Pacifc | 9pm CEST

In this talk ~foddur-hodler and ~dilryd-mopreg from Portal will update you on their latest developments. They are excited to share their experiences using solid state subscriptions, to present their ideas on what they're calling the everything graph, and to explain why they're "composability-maxxing."

Core School Preview: Jetting

Time: Wednesday June 14th – 9am Pacifc | 6pm CEST

Time: Wednesday June 14th – noon Pacifc | 9pm CEST

Urbit solves a lot of problems with digital identity. But its HTTP server, Eyre, hasn't gotten the memo yet. Two new Eyre features will make identifying incoming HTTP requests much nicer, letting developers deliver richer experiences, even on publicly accessible web pages. Using JavaScript on Urbit has always felt a bit off. ~hastuc-dibtux is going to change this with his Urbit Native UI project. Rendering Hoon as a frontend? Piece of cake. In this talk ~palfun-foslup will interview ~hastuc-dibtux about his project. Don’t miss the future of UIs.

What to Build on Urbit and Why

Time: Friday June 16th – noon Pacifc | 9pm CEST

AJ or ~larryx-woldyr recently launched a suite of Urbit-hosted front-ends for Osmosis, Uniswap and Safe. In this talk he'll dive into why he thinks you should build on Urbit and what you should build on it. Tune in to his closing talk of Developer Week on Friday.
